In the summer months of 2025, the LIFE ChemBee project and its partners made a strong impression at two major European events, showcasing practical solutions to reduce exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and reinforcing the project’s role as a bridge between research, citizens and policy.
The CheckED app presented at the Expert Panel in Copenhagen
On 11 May 2025, Dr Aleksandra Rutkowska, the CEO of DetoxED and the LIFE ChemBee project partner, participated in the Joint Congress of ESPE and ESE 2025 in Copenhagen – Europe’s leading event for paediatric and adult endocrinology with more than 7 000 participants. She joined the expert panel “How to reduce exposure to EDCs” and delivered a presentation that introduces participants to CheckED – a web app that helps safeguard current and future generations from EDCs.
CheckED is a digital prevention and biomonitoring tool developed within the framework of the LIFE ChemBee project, co-financed by theEU LIFE Programme, Interreg and thePolish National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. The app allows individual exposure assessment and provides science-based recommendations for reducing EDC exposure. The strong interest in CheckED confirms its growing recognition as a tool that translates research into practical guidance for citizens and healthcare professionals alike.

Engaging Experts and Policymakers in Warsaw
On 10 June 2025, Warsaw hosted an international conference on the health impacts of chemicals, gathering over 350 participants (onsite and online) from the fields of science, medicine, public administration and NGOs. The meeting, which was held under the patronage of the Polish EU Council Presidency, the Minister of Health and the President of the Polish Chamber of Physicians, aimed to develop joint recommendations for protecting public health. The LIFE ChemBee project was once again represented by the DetoxED web app and the Kupuj Odpowiedzialnie (‚Shop Responsibly‘) Foundation.
As the keynote speaker, Dr Rutkowska presented CheckED as a flagship innovation that translates science into everyday solutions, while highlighting the main pathways of EDC exposure and their consequences for pregnant women and future generations. The Kupuj Odpowiedzialnie Foundation hosted the only project stand, offering educational materials and interacting directly with participants.

By participating alongside experts from the WHO, the European Commission and the European Environment Agency, LIFE ChemBee reinforced its mission of building tools, knowledge, and networks that connect science with citizens and shape policies in line with the One Health approach.
Use our CheckED web app to find out if you are exposed to toxic substances and how you can reduce your exposure!
A European Lighthouse Initiative
The project’s high-profile presence at these conferences demonstrates that LIFE ChemBee is not just research, but actionable knowledge. Through CheckED and strategic engagement, the project empowers citizens, informs decision-makers and promotes the creation of healthier lives and safer environments across Europe.
