With our project, “NonHazCity”, we participated in the “Project Slam” competition for the #Interreg30 years project slam organised by Interact. Interreg is the EU funding scheme for cooperation in Europe and it supports people with good ideas from several countries to implement them together. With the projects, Interreg is establishing a culture of cooperation across borders. Furthermore, we were proposed by the Interreg Baltic Sea program for the competition (THANKS!).
For the competition, we selected the story of our household checks and made a video about it. NonHazCity competed with 150 great cooperation projects from all Interreg Programmes all across Europe. And now, we are among the 6 finalists of the slam and in first place in the “Green Connections” category!
We are proud of this recognition and look forward to the “Project Slam Grand Finale”, where all finalists are invited to present a live project slam in October as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities (10 – 15 October, Brussels). We need your support by voting for our project so that we become overall winners. With your help we will do it!
What’s more, from August until September INTERACT will run a public voting on Facebook on the videos submitted by the finalists for the category “Social Media Award”.
You can find our video about “NonHazCity” and our “Detox your Home” household checks here.
Watch it now, and if you like it: share it with your family, friends, colleagues and beyond!
To celebrate the “Interreg 30 Years” anniversary, European Commission and Interact are organising a series of events throughout the year. The “Interreg 30 years project slam” is one of such events, organised by Interact, within the European Week of Regions and Cities in October 2020. “Interreg 30 years project slam” celebrates the anniversary of cooperation by showing, in an entertaining and innovative way, the story of a different Interreg projects. The objective is to find the best project practices, and to present them both in social media and during the live final performance.
The Project Slam focuses on three themes which are cross-cutting in nature and can be demonstrated through all cooperation activities. These topics represent the essence of what Interreg is about and illustrate the main concerns expressed by our citizens. The theme of the project had to fall within the 3 themes: ‘We all have a neighbour’, ‘Youth’ and ‘Greener Europe’. NonHazCity from Interreg Baltic Sea Region was selected within the theme of ‘Greener Europe’ . Participation was open to all Interreg programmes and projects, including Interreg IPA-CBC and Interreg ENI CBC programmes, of any programming period.
