Vilnius will welcome municipal leaders, policy-makers, and sustainability experts from across the Baltic Sea Region and Europe on 26 November 2025 for the Green Governance Day. The high-level event will spotlight green governance as a political priority, with discussions on how public procurement, municipal leadership, and policy innovation can accelerate the green transition.
“Vilnius is proud to be a platform for green dialogue… Together, we can turn ambitious policies into tangible results that benefit our communities and the environment we all share,” said Valdas Benkunskas, Mayor of Vilnius.
The programme will feature keynote speeches, case studies, and policy discussions on innovative procurement models, hazardous substance management, and sustainable construction. The event will conclude with the NonHazCity Building Policy Award Ceremony and a networking reception.
“In times when sustainable governance is no longer optional, regional cooperation is our strongest tool,” emphasized Heidrun Fammler, Managing Director of the Baltic Environmental Forum Germany.
The event is jointly organized by ChemClimCircle-2, NonHazCity-3, and Change (K)Now!, all EU-Interreg funded initiatives.
Registration is open until 1 October 2025, with limited capacity. Confirmations will be sent in October. Accommodation in Vilnius is expected to be in high demand, and a reservation code is available for the event’s partner hotel.
